My name is Jess and I am the creator and owner of My Sunshine Mindful Play. 

I’m a busy mum to my beautiful 3 year old daughter. I work part time as a Primary School Teacher and an NDIS children's therapist. I have been teaching for almost 12 years have recently become a certified Children's Counsellor. I have a big passion for Children's Wellbeing and Social Emotional Learning. 

I started My Sunshine Mindful Play in March 2023 because of the love, enjoyment and calmness I saw when my daughter played. She loves using her sense of touch and smell to explore the world around her, which sparked a passion to explore different ways to incorporate these things in her play. From oobleck to sensory rice, we have delved into the world of messy, mindful and sensory play almost everyday! 

I started making small sensory kits for family and friends and it wasn't until friends from my mother's group said that I should start selling what I make. Seeing them enjoy the kits, made me want to simplify play and take the hassle out of busy parents' lives and provide items that help encourage the same play with their children. After a couple of months of selling my products, I went a step further and started offering Mindful Play sessions for our local community and beyond. These sessions have helped many young children (and parents) step outside of their comfort zone, socialise with others and develop fine motor skills, pre literacy and numeracy skills and pre-school readiness.

            motor skills and promote mindfulness through affirmations and breathing      
            techniques.
